Teejop Community
History Project

Teejop means Four Lakes in Hooçak.

Hooçak (Ho-Chunk) and other peoples have loved and cared for the region currently known as Madison, Wisconsin since beyond memory.

Through art and place-based experiences, the Teejop Community History Project hopes to support learning about some of the Indigenous perspectives of our special place.

We seek to inspire personal and collective exploration of our connections, sensitivity, and shared responsibility to land, water, and community.

We invite you to listen to this land as a living being.
