Melanie Sainz

Melanie Saint (Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin) is a visual artist, cultural arts presenter, curator, and has worked as an cultural arts educator in both public and private schools for over 30 years. As an artist who enjoys teaching art, Melanie strives to educate students about appreciating art through the lens of the art maker. Her artwork has been shown in exhibitions throughout the US and Japan, and she has won awards at prestigious art markets including the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Folk Art Center in Asheville, SC, the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, WI, and the Heard Museum in Phoenix, AZ. Melanie is the Founding Director of Little Eagle Arts Foundation (LEAF), a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the arts and culture of Native people of the Western Great Lakes through providing quality cultural arts education programming and Native art market events.

Christopher Sweet

Christopher Sweet is a contemporary Native American Artist. He is an enrolled member of the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin and also has heritage in the White Earth Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota. Sweet was born and raised in Wisconsin and has settled in the Wisconsin Dells
area.

Christopher has been artistic since childhood and after high school, he studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sweet carried his artistic abilities throughout his life and finally had the opportunity to pursue art as a career in 2016.Since that time, Christopher has exhibited his work in solo and multi-artist shows. Sweet's works include abstracts, realism, multimedia, and large-
scale murals. He has been a recipient of awards and ribbons for his work in juried art shows. Christopher’s commissioned works have been
featured in printed materials, and hang in corporate spaces, educational institutions, medical facilities and private collections throughout Wisconsin and the United States. In 2021, Christopher opened Blue Bear Studio, which serves as his creative space and gallery for his artworks. Blue Bear Studio is located at 524 Oak Street in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Chloris Lowe currently lives and works in central Wisconsin. In addition to his studio practice Chloris has been given an opportunity to further learn and teach the Ho-Chunk language. Commissions can be obtained by starting a conversation using the contact info provided below.

Nicole Yazzie

Nicole Yazzie, a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation and Diné Nation, is a Graphic Designer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s WEC. She has more than 11 years of experience in the design industry and holds a B.S. in Graphic Design and a M.A. in Information Technology & UX Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
