CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Teejop Community History Project (TCHP) by way of a Madison Community Foundation Grant seeks multiple artists in a call for proposals for community and place based work as the first stage in a larger project intended to raise awareness about the historical and contemporary ties that Teejop (the 4 lakes region) holds for Native American people. Coming soon!

12,000 YEARS & COUNTING

The purpose of this project is to promote learning and awareness of the 12,000‐year human story of Teejop (Four Lakes). Namely, it will create public, place-based learning opportunities to explore the past––and present––relationship of Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk) people to the Four Lakes region, currently known as Madison, Wisconsin. Guided by themes, locations, and learning intentions developed by Hoocąk community members, the public––with particular regard to teachers, educators, and K‐12 students--will have opportunities to creatively engage in a local introduction to Indigenous experiences, understandings, values, worldviews, and responsibilities at Teejop.
